Quitting smoking-3

April 14, 2008 / by zeyaroo

As  a saying goes " A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step", it's better to cut down on the numbers first. If you smoke 20 a day , you should start from 18 or 15.If you give up immediately, like most of the people , you're going to suffer from withdrawal symptoms.Withdrawal symptoms often include trembling of the hands, anxiety, irritation, constipation, increased sweating ( in hot climate) ,etc. Most of the smokers who try to quit immediately , may be able to live without a cigaret for a day or two , then they'll start as usual or some of them may increase the numbers they smoke.

So if you're are going to break this habit , I recommend you not to quit it immediately, you should do it slowly and steadily, by cutting down the numbers you smoke.Nicotine is addictive and that's why most smokers find it quite difficult to stop.Nicotine ,in small amount ,stimulates the parasympathetic nervous system, while in large amounts that blocks the nervous system.Parasympathetic system controls digestion and absorption mechanisms. As nicotine disturbs this nervous system, therefore, most smokers lose their apetite. So ,if you quit smoking you're possibly going to gain weight.

(That's all for now on quitting smoking. The above statements are based on my personal experiences.Your comments:-Welcome!)
