Buddhism and my point of view

April 4, 2008 / by zeyaroo

Many people see Buddhism as a religion. However I'd rather call this a science theory or a law.As it applies to all the living beings in this universe.Whatever you call yourself, a Hindhi or a christian or a muslim, you're a human being. We all are the same. And as we all are the same, there must be a universal law that covers all the religions. As far as I know ,Buddhism applies this law,the universal law.Anyone can practice Buddha's teachings(here I'd rather call him a philosopher than Lord Buddha). As he found the right theory to save the world. He found the most peaceful way to solve the problems. His laws are universal.Whatever you call yourself, you can practice.Buddhism does not compel others to believe in it.The Buddha's teachings tend to change the mind, from impurity to purity, from anger to love and compassion. Not from Christianity to buddhism nor from Jain  to Buddhism. Therefore his laws are universal.

Thank you.  I've read the Dhammapada as well as works by the Dalai Lama, Thich Nhat Hahn ("Living Buddha, Living Christ", "Going Home; Jesus and Buddha as Brothers"...)and various other Buddhist works.  I agree that the philosophy of the Buddha works well with my Christian beliefs.  Some say the Buddha was an atheist, but I disagree.  From what I've read, he felt it better to preach a philosophy to help mankind be more free than to conjecture on things he was unsure of, like God or the afterlife.  I honor Buddha as one of my spiritual fathers.

    Hey Zeyaroo

A little googling brought me here after I received your friend-add in google-talk, remember?

Anyway, buddhism and other religiose theories were amongst my hobbies into which I'd felt an unfathomable urge to dig and go beyond what someone special and specific had said or tended to postulate as apropos and/or considerable enough or not; but nevertheless, feeling -- or should it be bearing instead of feeling -- a bit unsure and unsecure about the nature of this life and existence which to me seems to connote notions of lucid dreams and subjective reality, I tended not to judge on any probable doctrine or idea; such buddhistic notions of peace and achievable tranquillity through life, seems to have things in common with western theories as well i.e. humanism or existentialism or both.

To cut the long way short, I believe in nothing and share no specific notion and relatively subscribe to no advertised doctrine, whatsoever.

I felt glad to have bumped into your blog while sharing no common idea here.

Keep up the great work of blogging and visit mine every often as well.

I still have no clue why you wanted to add me!

    Yours,

    Shah

PS: this is not the gmail ID you wanted to add; in fact, it's yet another alternative.
